In this emergency episode of The Stable Cyclist Podcast, we dive deep into the power of storytelling with Germany’s gravel media mastermind Thomas Euler. Known for his work on the Aut-Said Gravel and Gracing podcasts alongside Paul Voss, his writing on the Gravel Stack Substack, and published feature in Escape Collective, Thomas brings a unique media-savvy lens to the world of gravel cycling.
We explore why storytelling is the key to growing this beautiful sport, how his experience working in media strategy for NBA teams informs his approach, and what gravel can learn from other sports to build a sustainable future. Whether you're a racer, fan, or creative in the gravel scene, this conversation unpacks the systems, stories, and shifts that can take gravel to the next level.

Pete Stetina is one of the most passionate figures in American cycling especially when it comes to the discipline of gravel. In this deeply personal episode of The Gravel Gospel, Pete opens up about the long road from WorldTour stardom to gravel salvation. We revisit his days riding with some of the biggest teams in the world, including helping Ryder Hesjedal win the 2012 Giro d’Italia and surviving a devastating leg injury while riding for BMC in 2015 at the Tour of the Basque Country. Pete takes us inside the physical and emotional toll of that crash, and how it nearly ended everything.
But gravel saved him. As a rider with Trek, Pete cautiously dipped a toe into the world of off-road racing, only to find something deeper than podiums: purpose, community, and freedom. This is a rare look at the heart behind the racer, and a raw conversation with someone who redefined what a post-WorldTour career can look like. Whether you’re new to gravel or a longtime fan of Pete, this interview will change how you see one of the sport’s most unique voices.

What happens when you show up to race... but miss the start because you're filming the race director for a documentary? That’s exactly what went down at Granny’s Gravel Grinder, a Central Minnesota gravel race hosted by Chase Wark and Wark's Cycling Services. With over 400 riders across multiple distances, the event brought big community energy, rowdy midwestern grit, and hospitality only Chase can deliver. For JP — back in the gravel game for the first time in two years — it meant lining up Dead F**ing Last (DFL)* after capturing pre-race footage for his upcoming docu-series on Chase.
Despite the late start, the day turned into something far more meaningful. The post-race celebration held a surprise for JP: a brand-new Lauf Siegla and a sponsorship offer from Wark Cycling Services to support his storytelling work on The Stable Cyclist. This video captures the ride, the vibes, and how JP's work has shaped Chase's life over the past year. Whether you're here for gravel racing, cycling documentaries, or the power of people supporting people — this one’s for you.

In this special Gravel Gospel episode of The Stable Cyclist Podcast, JP welcomes one of gravel cycling’s most respected voices—Ben Delaney. With a journalism résumé that includes VeloNews, CyclingNews, BikeRadar, Outside, CyclingTips, Cycling Weekly, and Cyclist, Ben has shaped how we talk about bikes for nearly two decades. Now forging his own path on YouTube—free of corporate sponsorships—Ben gives his honest takes on bikes, gear, and the ever-evolving gravel scene.
Together, JP and Ben dive into what makes gravel so magnetic, from gas station stops to the community-first spirit that defines the sport. They also talk about content creation, staying true to your voice, and which gravel races seem extra special these days. Whether you're a gravel diehard or just gravel-curious, this episode will make you want to get dusty and ride.

In the month of May, we will be taking everyone on a journey through the Gravel Gospel as we anticipate Unbound.  Instead of our normal 2-3 guests, JP sits down with gravel evangelists Ben Delaney, Amanda Nauman-Sheek, Pete Stetina, Logan Kasper and Ian Boswell.  And if we say our prayers correctly we may even be in for a massive surprise or two late in the month.  A LOT going on here right now so be sure you are subscribed and make sure those notifications are turned on and most importantly, remember, you are loved.

In this episode of The Stable Cyclist Podcast, I sit down with Colleen Maher, whose rise in gravel racing is nothing short of incredible. Just three years ago, she was a self-proclaimed couch potato—now, she’s a national champion. We discuss her rapid ascension in the sport, what it’s like to experience so much success so quickly, and how that can lead to an unexpected identity crisis. When cycling becomes such a big part of who you are, what happens next?
Beyond racing, we dive into the struggle of making new friends as an adult and how cycling has helped her build a strong community. Colleen also shares insights on getting more beginners involved in the sport and why progress looks different for everyone. Whether you’re just getting into cycling or have been riding for years, this episode is packed with inspiration and real talk about the challenges of personal growth in sport and life.

In this episode of The Bootleg Miles, I’m finally telling the full story of my love for the Bonk Bros. But this is more than just fanboy appreciation. This is a story about the kindness of strangers, unsolicited support and finding your way back after everything falls apart.
In the midst of a massive mental health project in 2023, I had a devastating mountain bike crash and head injury sidelining me for over a year, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever ride again. But the guys in the Bonk Bros helped in the ways they could, and Adam Saban stuck with me. Now we’re working together to prepare for the Maah Daah Hey 100 and to finish that massive Mental Health Project—and this episode is a tribute to the people who never stopped believing. If you’ve ever struggled to get back up, or wondered if your story still matters, I hope this video reminds you that you are not alone. Subscribe for more stories at the intersection of cycling, community, and mental health.

In this episode of Bootleg Miles, JP opens up about something far harder than finishing a grueling 100-mile mountain bike race: asking for help with his mental health. As a teacher, filmmaker, and endurance athlete living with Bipolar Disorder, JP reflects on the fears that held him back from getting help — and the life-changing shift that happened when he finally did. Filmed on the bike and from the heart, this ride dives deep into the raw, often unspoken challenges of living with mental illness.
Whether you're struggling yourself or supporting someone who is, this episode tackles real mental health conversations head-on — including how coaching, therapy, and community can make all the difference. If you're navigating anxiety, depression, or Bipolar Disorder, this story might be the nudge you need to ask for help. And if you're just here for a ride, trust us — this one goes way deeper than watts.

Kelly Jones is a two-time national champion in eSports and eMTB, but her path to the top was anything but typical. In this powerful episode, she shares her journey from growing up in England to moving to the U.S. at 15, and how a snowboarding accident changed the course of her life. For the first time, Kelly talks about how that injury led to a long struggle with addiction and abuse—but it was the bike that ultimately became her lifeline.
After rehab, Kelly found a new identity and purpose through cycling. We talk about the highs and lows of recovery, the role of mental health, and how racing gave her a way forward. This conversation is a raw and inspiring look at transformation, resilience, and the power of sport to rebuild a life.
